Our first graders have been very busy.
In Reader's Workshop we continue to work on Questioning/Synthesis. Readers work together to find "burning questions" that are not easily answered in their literature. Readers also monitor overall meaning, important concepts, and themes in texts as they read, understanding that their thinking evolves in the process. Students respond to literature through letters to the main character.
Writer's Workshop will focus on Informational Writing upon conclusion of our Poetry Unit.
